Workshop A: The 1st APEC Workshop on Developing Solar-Powered Emergency Shelter Solutions (EWG 22 2015A)

Meeting Location: Tianjin, China

Introduction: Workshop A had been held on July 28-29, 2016 in Tianjin, China. This workshop aims to foster cooperative efforts to strengthen APEC community’s energy-resilience and sustainability affected by natural disasters. During the workshop, about thirty delegates from 10 APEC economies (Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, The Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam) exchanged SPESS-related information and discussed issues regarding current practice in emergency sheltering and its energy supply, their expectations on the to-be-developed SPESS, action plan of the APEC SPESS Open Innovation Competition and etc.

Workshop B: The Final APEC Workshop on Developing Solar-Powered Emergency Shelter Solutions (EWG 22 2015A)

Date: November 3-5, 2016

Meeting Location: Tianjin, China

Introduction: The final APEC workshop on SPESS was just hold on Nov.3-5, 2016. More than 30 APEC-funded and other experts and participants from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, The United States and Viet Nam have jointed this meaningful workshop. Among this workshop, four Innovative SPESS designs shared by four different teams from China have called strong attentions during this workshop and receive lots of good comments from every economies
