Xi’an Xingfu Green Belt is located in Xi’an, the ancient capital and famous historical and cultural city of China. The project, oriented to the general target of “a centurial work in an ancient city”, continues the general planning made by a Soviet expert in 1953, and has existed for more than 60 years, together with the development of the new China. It is the widest green belt that lasts for the longest time in the old city of Xi’an, and even in the whole China.

The green belt is 5.85km long and 200m wide, taking an area of 1,170,000m2. It is the largest synthesis of underground space around the world, and the largest city green belt project in China. Xingfu Green Belt is a fully underground construction complex, including the subway, integrated pipe gallery, landscape plants, municipal roads, underground buildings and street lamps.

Xi’an Xingfu Green Belt Project is the key demonstration project under the cooperation between Xi’an Municipal Government and China State Construction Engineering Corporation and constructed in PPP pattern. The front-edge environmental friendly construction technologies are employed in the construction of the belt to reduce the consumption of energy, promote the use of clean and renewable energy, and build a culture of saving energy. The project aims to improve the happiness index of citizens in the old city of Xi’an by administrate and regulate the transportation, life, healthy, culture and environment comprehensively, and drive the development of economic and industrial layout of the areas around. Through practicing the “four intelligent” idea, i.e. intelligent design, intelligent construction, intelligent operation and intelligent service, the green belt project is to be constructed as a new visiting card of the ancient city with the characteristics of historical inheritance, urban renewal, green ecology, intelligent operation and sustainable development.
