The third Asia-Pacific Energy Sustainable Development Forum was held successsfully
On September 21-22, 2017, The third Asia-Pacific Energy Sustainable Development Forum was held in Tianjin. Lead Shepherd of the APEC Energy Working Group (EWG), 10 delegates from APEC economies, representatives of the new energy and renewable energy expert group, energy conservation and energy efficiency expert group and independent experts and other dozens of international personnel as well as leaders from the National Energy Administration, Tianjin Development and Reform Commission, Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission, leaders of domestic universities, research institutions, well-known enterprises and local government, Mr. Jiajun Li,Chairman of the University Council of Tianjin University, and Dean of the School of Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Law, Management and Economics, Electrical Automation and Information Engineering attended the forum. The forum was hosted by Ms. Li Zhu, president of the APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC).
Mr. Jyuung-Shiauu Chern, Lead Shepherd of EWG addresed the opening ceremony, he said that APEC leaders had set two broad goals: to double the use of renewable energy by 2030 and to reduce energy intensity by at least 45% from 2005 levels by 2035. APSEC had set an example in achieving these goals and formed a cooperative mechanism and network for sustainable urban construction.
Ms. Xiaowei Wei, Director of Division of General Affairs of Department of International Cooperation of National Energy Administration delivered a speech. She pointed out that as the first international energy cooperation agency led by the Chinese government, APSEC shoulded the dual tasks of providing services for international energy cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and providing intellectual support for Chinese sustainable development.
With the witness of the leaders, Senior Advisor of Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority, Clem Arlidge, dean of the School of Design and Environment, the National University of Singapore, Lam Khee Poh, Lifetime Scientist of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory President, Nan Zhou,Governor Advisor of Sustainable Developm were awarded APEC Sustainable Energy Center high-level advisory experts;vice dean of the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, Xiaodong Xu, deputy chief engineer of China Ecectric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, Zhao He, Secretary of the party committee of the Institute of Industrial Economics of CASS,Dan Shi,former vice President of CNPC Econmics & Technology Research Institute, Keyu Liu, chief engineer of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Zhibing Mao were awarded the domestic expert group member employment letter.
