APSEC Attended the 58th Meeting of the APEC Energy Working Group (EWG58) held in Antofagasta, Chile

The 58th APEC Energy Working Group (EWG) Meeting was held in Antofagasta, Chile over 14-18 October 2019. APSEC President, Prof Li Zhu and Vice President, Dr Jinlong Ma, attended the EWG meeting and associated meetings and jointed technical field visit.

At Energy Smart Community Initiative (ESCI) Awards Ceremony, Prof Zhu represented the Chinese teams received the 2019 ESCI Awards. Prof Zhou participated in the panel discussion as part of the opening for the Forum of Public-Private Policy Dialogue on Energy Modernization, which was organized by the Chilean Government.

At the EWG 58 Meeting, Prof Zhu outlined the newly developed APSEC five-year implementation program (2020-2024) to continue the support for the APEC sustainable energy development goals.

Over the meeting, EWG endorsed the proposed APSEC pillar program, Energy Transition Solutions. Dr Ma presented the APEC Policy Dialogue paper, and along with the Malaysian representative, participated in the discussion on Renewable Energy Transition for Sustainable Growth.
