Prof. Li Zhu, President of APSEC was Invited to Attend the 8th International Conference on Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings

The 8th International Conference on Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings (ICEERB 2018) was successfully held on 19 - 21 November, 2018 at the University of Otago, Wellington, New Zealand.


The conference mainly focuses on the sustainability of residential buildings. The five sub-themes of the conference are: Sustainable neighborhoods, urban planning and regeneration, enhancing wellbeing through housing, indoor environment and energy in residential buildings. Justin Lester, Mayor of Wellington and Hon Phil Twyford, Minister of Housing and Development honor the occasion by welcoming and opening the conference.

Prof. Li Zhu, President of APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC) was invited as the first keynote speaker to present “Low Carbon Energy System for APEC Sustainable Cities”, which includes 6 parts, that is Cities in Asia-Pacific Region, Initiatives to Sustainable Urbanization in APEC, Towards Sustainable Cities from Models to Reality, Low Carbon Transition of Energy Systems is the Way, Technology Innovation and Development is the Key, as well as Brief on APEC Sustainable Energy Center.

This conference series was initiated in Sendai, Japan in 2000 and has played a significant role in the development of Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings. ICEERB is a well-attended conference attracting researchers, industry leaders and academics from Asia, Europe and North America.
